LEGALIZATION

Any document issued by an institution of a foreign country is not valid in Russia without its legalization.

If a foreign country is a member of the Hague Convention (1961), its authorized government agency affixes an APOSTILLE to public documents, which is the official form of legalization mutually recognized by the member states.

If a foreign country is not a member of the Hague Convention (1961), documents issued by its institutions must be legalized by its ministry of foreign affairs or any other authorized government agency prior to being submitted for legalization to the Russian embassy or consulate in that country.

Documents issued in Myanmar are legalized by the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, prior to being submitted for legalization to the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in Yangon.
